She's not spoiled....

Yeh Right!!

A few weeks ago, we saw a Jasmine (Disney character) doll at Target and Maddie asked for it.. I told her "maybe for Easter". She kept asking about it as we walked around the store so I asked her if she'd like to call Grandma Lena and ask her for one. She was more than happy to do so! Since then, every day she has said "maybe Grandma Lena will send me a Jasmine for Easter".

Today an "Easter box" arrived addressed to little Miss Maddie herself.

The box was filled with clothes, stickers, coloring books, and candies. The first thing to come out of the box was JASMINE!

Despite her not wanting to say "Thank You" on the phone, these pictures should say everything! (of course we'll send a proper thank you card too.)

Again.. she's not spoiled! Thank you Grandma Lena & Papa!

Matt's Birthday Weekend

Last weekend was lots of fun. Matt finally had time to plant his garden. We've been getting so much rain around here.. it was overcast and cool but that works out good. We gave him his birthday gifts a few days early. New gloves, a very manly garden tool with a cerated edge for cutting open soil bags(or popping open a beverage), and a super cute garden gnome that Maddie picked out. She kept it a secret from daddy for almost a week.

In between planting his vegetables, Matt and Maddie shared some Daddy/Daughter time and they planted strawberries together. Each night they've been going out back to see how their crops are doing.

Our new garden gnome!

Maddie's Strawberries

The finished garden... corn, tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, etc.
(notice the tiny garden gnome in the corner.. he's pretty small.)

While the rest of the family was outside, I was inside baking and frosting this masterpiece... lol Ok, not the prettiest and doesn't really look like it's for a daddy BUT I did make some of the buttercream frosting from scratch and tried out a new writing tool. The family thought it was delicious and that's all that matters.

No complaints here!

Happy 38th Birthday Lovie!

Pretty In Pink

We had photos taken at JC Penney's two weeks ago and I must say they turned out pretty cute.. in the past, we've had horrible experiences with it being super hot, and Maddie not cooperating for the photographer.. this time I gave her a sucker and all was good!
(That and farting noises behind the photographer.)

I sent packages today so all the grandmas, grandpas, aunts and uncles should be getting them shortly.

Don't forget, if you click on the photo it will appear larger, then you can copy it to your desktop and print them at home.

We bought the newly released DVD of Tangled yesterday... Along with the BluRay came this cute Pascal (the chameleon). It may be Syrah's lost twin, no?

Here are some of the cards I made using my friend Sarah's Cricut.. so cute.. if only there were more hours in the day to get more crafts done! lol

Matt's birthday is coming up on the 4th.. This weekend I'm tackling the chore making a birthday cake and actually having it look nice.... wish me luck!

Target Trip

Look what I got today at Target for $4.84! (Plus a $2 off one Revlon tool coupon and one $5/2 Revlon tools to use on my next visit (that's 3 more free products)

You too can get this deal.. visit the coupons area at Target.com and under Beauty you'll find a manufacturer coupon for $2/1 Revlon Beauty Tool. (This can be used at any store that sells that product)... Target has lots of nail files and clippers, etc for under $2 making them FREE! But wait, it gets better... you'll get a Catalina (those coupons that the cashier hands you with your receipt) for another $2/1 product and $5/2.. The first time I did this deal the other day, I received 2 of each coupon.. I went back today to buy more nail files, and the same thing happened... sooo I went back around to get more free tools and just ended up paying tax on all my goodies. I'm not sure when these coupons will end but until they do, what a great deal for very little work.. I plan on packaging a few things together to use for gift baskets.. would be super cute paired with a bottle of nail polish.

Target also has Circo baby/toddler socks on sale for $1. On the Target Site under baby they have a $1/1 coupon for baby accessory.. You can always print two coupons from these sites by hitting the back arrow after the first coupon prints.. We have two computers so I was able to print four coupons... then to my surprise, the cashier handed me a catalina for another $1/1 Circo Accessory. It only happened once so no continuing that deal. (for some reason my order was at $0 before I was able to use my two sock coupons on the first transaction so I used them on the second one.)

I don't have any photos of yesterday's trip but I got two pairs of socks, and four Revlon files/tweezers/buffers for just the cost of tax! Woohoo

Happy Target Shopping

ps Mom, this works in other states too so print out those coupons and head out to Target!

Fillmore Train & Fish Hatchery

Today our Horizon Hills Class had a field trip... a ride on the Fillmore Train over to a fish hatchery.. I've never seen one before and I must say it's pretty cool! It was a great opportunity to hang with Sarah and her daughter Isabella.. I swear we didn't coordinate their outfits.

Here are some highlght photos:

On the way there.. can you believe Isabella was moving when I shot this. Couldn't have been more perfect timing!

The fishies LOVED their fish food!

I have a million shots from this angle! :)

This is the proper fish-feeding stance... in case you were wondering. Bend at the knees and release!

Isabella and Maddie with their teacher, Mrs. Kandy

They had cranes and some other ducks on the other side of a fence/cage that surrounded the area. It smelled a bit like fish there so they must have been in heaven.. or not.. they were after all, on the wrong side of the fence!

Maddie showing us her "cheese"

Maddie was practicing taking photos of Bella

Isabella and mommy looking at photos of our trip... on the train ride back

Miss Bella practicing her poses.. she's a natural cutie!

We had the girls sit on the tracks for some fun photos

No cute girls were harmed during the taking of these photos (no, that is NOT a speeding train headed our way)

Lunch afterwards at Margaret's Cocina. The girls loved the beans, rice, and of course the chips!

Fun day for us... lucky too.. all the other trips this week have been postponed because of the rainy weather. We had beautiful blue skies!

We had a CRAZY storm come through town yesterday.. check out this Trader Joe's parking lot... 4.91" of rain.. wow!
