We Have A Toofy!!!

That's baby-talk for a "tooth"!  Yay!!

Maddie was being a bit of a crabbie-pants two days ago and I felt into her mouth. Sure enough, there are little ridges poking through from her bottom right tooth. Aw, poor baby! Last night was a little rough as I could tell it was hurting her. She would wake up and wine, then fall back asleep. She didn't sleep a wink during the day yesterday so she was super over-tired BUT we got through it and hopefully she'll be better in the next few days (until the next little bugger shows up). We stayed home from our play date today so mom and baby could catch up on some sleep. I LOVE napping with her. It doesn't happen often now that she's in her crib. Which by the way is going great! I still get up 3-4 times a night but she almost always has a 4-5 hour stretch at some point. Now we're working on getting to only one time, but that will have to wait until the teething pain is gone.

For now it's sucking on cool washcloths and Tylenol before bed. Any other mommy suggestions?

Ladies and Gentlemen... we got 5 hours and 15 minutes...

...of sleep that is! I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the alarm clock. She actually slept over 5 hours straight which is a new record in the Dimino household. Never thought I'd get excited about a few hours of sleep but here we are. I know tonight is a new night and anything could happen but how could I not get excited about the prospect of our little one actually sleeping for more than 2 hours. She did take good naps yesterday so I'm sure that helped.. today the naps haven't been so great. If I put her down, the little eyeballs open wide and they're hard to close again. Wish us luck!!!

It felt like Christmas here this morning not just because of the sleep but we received a rather large package from our friendly Fed-Ex man.. woohoo.. we LOVE packages! We were super surprised to see it was from my long time friends, The Watkins. My family moved across the street from them when I was in the fourth grade and their daughters Tina and Bonnie and I have been friends ever since our first time sledding together. The girls have since grown and gotten married and have their own kids. We love visiting with them when we go back. Tina's husband Jim and Matt get along great. Anyhow... they sent us a ton of gifts. The cutest outfits for Maddie, a gorgeous photo tree for Maddie's room, a decorative silver shoe, and a little red riding hood doll. They also sent in the package a gift for our wedding (what's the rule, you have 5 years to send a gift? lol) It's a great engraved photo frame. It reminds me of one of our favorite wedding gifts that came from Tina and Jim, an engraved candle that has our wedding date on it. I love personal gifts like that. We have proper thank you cards in the mail, but I wanted to send a note online because I know you check out our blog. Thank you all so much for thinking of us! We loved everything and I can't wait for Maddie to model all her new clothes.. seriously this girl's closet is loaded.

Hope everyone has a great weekend! It's suppose to be HOT here tomorrow.. yay!

We found him! (The Easter Bunny)

We're a little late in posting but we saw the Easter Bunny the Saturday before Easter. He was at the Ralph's parking lot by our house. There was allot going on so I'm not sure if Maddie even realized she was sitting on a large furry animal's lap but it was cute just the same.

Food Update: We tried sweet potatoes for the first time today. She's been eating rice cereal once a day for a little over a week now. Some days she eats the entire tablespoon and other days not.. just depends on the fussy factor when I'm feeding her. Right now it's more about enjoying the experience than actually getting any nutrition from it. She didn't seem to mind the sweet potatoes so I'll continue them for the next week or so before moving onto something else. We're going to try banana again. I had no idea it makes her poop look so crazy (like worms in it)... apparently it's totally natural. Banana bread gets the little black things in it so now you have a lovely visual.

Sleeping update: Maddie is still sleeping in her crib, BUT waking every two hours or so.. oh boy! I think taking naps is really important so we're still working on getting them more regular. Seems like when I put her down, she wakes up then nap time is over. I think it's too light in her room. Yesterday we slept/nursed on the couch together for two hours and she actually had two stretches of 3 hours last night. It's not much but I sure celebrated. She's lucky she's cute! :)

Has Anyone Seen The Easter Bunny???

So our little Cottontail is now "hopping" (rolling) across the living room floor. She rolls to the left, she rolls to the right! Oh My!

As you can see, Mommy has her wearing funny costumes again. She was a hit at Trader Joe's (local grocery store) wearing her bunny ears. Too adorable for words!

Tomorrow if the weather is nice, we're going to take more photos outside...

**Everyone, please keep Pam (Maddie's Auntie) in your thoughts. She pulled her hamstring (ouch!) and we're hoping for a very speedy recovery. We Love you Pamy!
