1-2-3

Can you believe in 3 days baby Maddie is going to be 3 months old?!! CRAZY..

She's been "talking" allot lately. In fact, she just spent the last half an hour talking to her dad about the day we had. We didn't leave the house until a Target trip after dad got off work, but vacuuming the house was quite fun! :)
She loves being in her wrap and she gets tons of comments about how cute she is when we do go out.

Here's Maddie with her BFF (Best Friend Forever) Isabella aka Izzy. They were born on the same day at the same hospital and have had several play dates since then. Sarah, her mom keeps me sane when I feel like the only person going through some part of mommy hood. She's right there with me!

Avocado strikes again.. check out this sucker, bigger than Maddie's head! Too bad we cut it open today and it was dry. Has anyone had luck with Holiday Avocados? So far we've struck out on the two that we picked. Guacamole will have to wait!

Don't let Maddie fool you, she isn't sitting on her own, but she can sit in her Bumbo chair unassisted. What a big girl!

She's starting to teeth.. I'll try to upload some videos later this week but she just started putting her toys in her mouth. She's been chewing her hand/arm for awhile but as she discovers how her hands work, in go the toys.

Another Amazing Gift

Maddie has received some of the coolest gifts. She's one lucky little girl. Yesterday we received a gift from our friends Kelli and Orlie. The pictures certainly don't do it justice (sorry they're blurry but the batteries for my camera just died).

It's Maddie's First Baby Block. I love baby blocks and can't wait until she's old enough to play with a set, but this one was created especially for her.

If you're interested in something like this for someone you know, you can find them at www.Craft-E-Family.com
They have complete sets and other specialized gifts.

This is another gift that she's sure to cherish forever!

Chunky Monkey & Thunder Thighs

11 lbs 4 ozs Can you believe it? Born at 7 lbs 2 ozs and just two months later she's a chunky monkey. It makes me so proud to know I'm able to feed her and she's just thriving!

She's officially out of her newborn clothes and onto size 0-3. I was a little sad as I folded up some of her onesies and jammies to put away for another baby to wear but then I get to move on to the other cute clothes hanging in her closet. :)

Maddie had another immunization shot and an oral vaccine today. She took both like a champ and although she cried, it wasn't as bad as the first one she ever had where she gave me the look as the needle went in and her face turned bright red before the burst of tears came. Today wasn't as traumatic, thank goodness. So far no fever and she's sleeping "like a baby" (what a stupid expression anyhow).

Brand New Year- 2009

We're looking forward to the next few months and just taking the time to watch our baby girl grow. Neither of us wants to miss a minute. For that reason I gave my two weeks notice at work today. Its sad to leave a place I've been for the past 7 years but I officially begin my role as Stay At Home Mom and wear my new badge proudly. I'm so glad for the opportunity to stay here with her and can't even imagine having to leave her so soon.
I really couldn't do it without Matt and his love and support. He truly is the best husband and daddy anyone could ask for. Love you Matt!

We decided to take a photo of Maddie each month as a visual record of her growth.. kinda like my baby bump photos. We chose her glider chair and her new teddy bear as the constants so you have a comparison.

Here's month 2, notice the teddy is still a bit bigger than she is.

Here's how we eat dinner.. either one at time or when the baby is sleeping. Unfortunately she cries whenever we put her down to sleep. Seriously.. I've tried all types of things and would love for her to sleep on her own but we realize she won't be so little forever. For play time she's good for about 10 minutes in the swing or her bouncy chair but then starts to fuss and if you don't pick her up she cries and it takes quite awhile to calm her down again.
They say you can't spoil a newborn so we're going to not worry about it for another month or so and just enjoy our time together. At least she sleeps well even if it is on one of us.

Bath time... sometimes she hates it.. but lately she's been enjoying it. We're sure to cover her with a towel so she isn't cold and that seems to help. I also nurse her a little before and after and that seems to make her content. Although she does make bubbles in the water.. so far no surprises in the tub!

We have her two month check up on Thursday so we'll be able to check her weight. She still has her chubby cheeks and the thunder thighs so I'm not worried about her weight gain but I'm curious to see how she's doing. We moved up to size 1 diapers and most of her newborn clothes are too little. She's wearing 0-3 months right now.

Take Care!
