Jumping Baby Bean

Matt was able to feel our baby bean last night for the first time. We were watching a new show on TV (Wipeout, hilarious by the way!) and I felt her a few times. I asked Matt for his hand and put it on my belly.. few minutes later she kicked. I felt her and looked at Matt who was looking at me to see if what he felt was really what he thought he felt.. Yep! Baby girl kicked her papa!

22 Week Baby Bump

Here's the latest and greatest on the baby bump..

I've been feeling our little girl move around. I'm so excited every time I feel her... now ask me if I still feel the same in a few months when she's all squished in there and jabbing at my ribs like she's in a kickboxing class!

Matt hasn't felt anything on the outside yet but he's waiting patiently. Mya (our cat) likes to walk across the two of us while we're in bed. I keep telling her to stop stepping on her sister and she's going to punch her back one of these days! :)

Next prenatal check up is on July 3rd.

Nursery Furniture Ordered

After tons of research on safety and quality we found a crib/dresser set that we love AND has great reviews. I had a question on the shelves that came with the hutch and so I emailed the manufacturer on a Saturday evening after 5:30... guess what! Less than 2 hours later the PRESIDENT of the company emailed me back. I had read that the Westwood customer service was really great and now I truly believe it. The store said the furniture should be in 6-8 weeks from now but to avoid disappointment we're planning on 10-12.

The crib will actually grow with our little girl. It came with a toddler rail and we purchased bed rails to convert it into a full size bed. The dresser is large and the hutch has two lights at the top controlled by a touch switch. I'll be sure to post pictures of the nursery as it comes together. It's nice to have such a large ticket item checked off our list.

Oh, and I would recommend checking out Baby Town in Reseda. They had lots of nursery and kids rooms setup.. anything you can think of, they pretty much had for you to see in person. (Thanks Heidi for the tip!)

19 Week Baby Bump

Here's our latest baby bump photo. The bump is starting to firm up. Even Matt noticed it yesterday morning looking a bit different. I haven't felt the baby yet.. at least I think it's just gas that I'm feeling. They say you'll look back and realize there were a few times that it probably was the baby after I really start to feel her.. Yay!

Baby Bean Dimino is a.......

GIRL BEAN!!!!

We didn't get any great printed photos of the "money shot" but the doctor confirmed she's for sure a little lady. We saw three lines on the screen and that's how I knew. All of her measurements (brain, thigh bone, etc) are on track and she's estimated to weigh 11 ounces.

Mom has only gained 5 lbs so far.. amazing considering the amount of carbs and ice cream I've allowed myself,  for the sake of the baby of course!

It's funny. Many of our close friends and family thought for sure we were having a boy and in the past few weeks I talked myself into believing it was probably true. Partially because I didn't want to seem disappointed when we found out and partially because I had always wanted a girl and it took awhile to get used to the idea that this quite possibly could be a boy bean we were dealing with here. I was all set to hear that we were having a boy and was actually a bit disappointed to hear otherwise! Funny how that works! BUT that lasted for a whole mili-second and I'm soooo glad we're having a baby girl. Angela Jr.. what a great name!
Angelo Guido will have to wait for baby #2.

We've vowed 'no pink room' but will probably do something in a light blue/brown with white accents. We'll be sure to post nursery photos when we get to that point. So far we started to empty out the nest to make room for baby. We've sold lots of items in the past two weeks (including Matt's bachelor dressers) and goodwill will be receiving a whole closet full of clothes/linens to make room for baby. Let the shopping begin!
